Course Objectives The objective of this course is to introduce essential aspects of basic weaves and to weave fabric samples.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • to define different types of woven fabrics.
  • to weave plain and twill fabrics.
  • to design a checkered fabric by using hand loom.
  • to produce fabric samples by warp and weft color variations.
  • to suggest proper end uses for the fabrics which they had woven.
Course Description This course will provide essential knowledge to design basic woven fabrics. Moreover it will cover the preparation of a fabric swatch book consisted of designed fabrics.
